1. Dropout
When Hyuuga Neji became a Genin with a dropout who could not perform genjutsu and ninjutsu, he doubted whether his team would operate as a team; little did the young prodigy know that Team Gai would soon become the best team to beat, with a little help by a weapon specialist kunoichi.
2. Corrupt
He lived in a corrupt world, his father killed off for some reason intangible and in his mind, for no good reason, thus, he secretly expected everyone in the whole damn village to somehow be dishonest and fraudulent. However, she managed to prove him wrong.
3. Lonesome
He had always been alone, whether it was at home or training sessions, until she saw the isolation in the impassive lavender eyes and one day, just joined him in one of his own training practices, using the excuse that Lee was bothering her.
4. Administer
At first, he really didn’t much care, promptly administering his imperfect Gentle Fist technique, closing her tenkutsu for her first, and definitely not her last, time.
5. Black out
During the preliminary match, he felt acute pain attacking the so-called emptiness in his chest while watching his only “friend” slip into unconsciousness by the sand kunoichi, his agony then melted over into the already traumatic fight against his cousin.
6. Eliminate
When Uzumaki Naruto and his own uncle dissolved the idea that fate could not be changed, the principle did not finally quickly fade, but traces still thrived in his recesses of his mind.
7. Run
When Uchiha Sasuke ran away from Konoha in pursue of the Hidden Sound Village under the influence of Orochimaru, he was sent after him, a thought running through his head about what she would do when she found out.
8. Bleeding
He returned to Konoha with holes where holes should not be, half dead and his limits pushed to the brink of extinction, but he was a genius and a Hyuuga, and thus, survived.
9. Long Hours
She spent long hours by his side the first time he awoke, peeling deformed apples with a blunt knife, reprimanding him roughly about his recklessness, his idiocy; however, before she could finish her scolding, tears welled in her eyes as she threw herself at him and sobbed against his chest crying why, why couldn’t he tell her that he might disappear from her life.
10. Ashamed
She did not return for a few days, he suspected she was ashamed by her outburst, and as he lay in the bed too weak to move, gazing at the flowers she had left him when she visited, he oddly felt lonely.
11. Limited
When he was finally allowed to leave, with limited strength in his limbs, she had returned and pushed him in the wheelchair, her company alleviating the pain of being weak.
12. Haircut
She had cut his hair, after he had lost many strands throughout the battle and his healing process, her slender fingers running through his hair as she hummed softly, doing quite a good job for a kunoichi.
13. Walk
She walked out of his life after Uzumaki Naruto left Konoha, her excuse being she was going to spend some time training alone in Suna, leaving him as a Chunnin-going-to-be-Jonin.
14. Rise
He rose through the ranks, becoming stronger, and, she began to rise from her seat beside him, leaving him standing alone, as he watched her back on her way to the Wind Country.
15. Memorable
Their time together as young Genin became the past, memorable times of innocence, as he killed yet another ninja on yet another mission.
16. Stomach
She returned to Konoha after a year, and at first sight, something churned in his stomach that unsettled him and poked at his iron-steel nerves.
17. Nervous
She seemed nervous around him, toying with her kunai through black gloves, her eyes distant as they gazed into his colorless ones, before her knife dropped and her arms wrapped around his neck as she confessed she had missed him.
18. Skin
And the brush of her skin against his own, caused his heart to rustle as he stiffened against the feeling of being in physical contact with the girl, no, woman, who had walked out of his life and then back in.
19. Want
He was so strewn with actual want to be with the kunoichi, but he realized his darkness as a Branch member, his fate that would fall upon her and their children would ruin the shine gifted to her, so he could not allow her to get close, closer to his heart than she already was, he could not stain her delicate polish with his dark past and even darker future.
He had found her on a beach by the waves, her hair down and twisted in braids, and his heart longed to see those shining eyes he had never acknowledged as valuable before, but he could not approach her.
21. Addict
He became addicted to the brushes and the touches, hiding his feelings more from himself than from her, his fate, although not as powerfully closed as he once thought, still would rest upon her shoulders and still would bring her down; so he watched, he watched from a distance, and he became addicted to her.
22. Curse
He cursed his hormones, his pitible life, his anger that he could not hold her in fear he would take her, he cursed how he was slowly descending back to the attitude he once held as a Genin.
23. Sand
The Kazekage was kidnapped, and his team was sent to track the Sand nin; he was more than ready, especially after she had squeezed his hand the night before at a training session and whispered that he be safe.
24. Force
The force in which his heart shattered at seeing her with the puppeteer resounded through his whole body, his eyes glued on the sight of his, his teammate laughing with the Kazekage’s brother.
25. Mute
He was mute as they returned to Konoha, the fleeting glances from her signaled she was unnerved of his coldness, his refrain from speech, as she whispered to Lee her concern before he assured her loudly that the prodigy was just tired.

He watched her return home and bathe away the remnants of dried blood and dirt, the outline of her body shocking him and how much his Genin teammate matured.
27. Coercion
His return from Suna made him possessive, intimidating other prospective boyfriends from his desire with sheer coercion, before one conversation between two pedestrians about her changed his once want for her company to something more.
28. Sinful
His sinful dreams overwhelmed him, as reality and fantasy morphed giving him illusions he would rather not enjoy, his mind befuddled and forcing him to confess his longest held secret.
29. Miracle
It defied gravity when he had managed to confess that he had been thinking about her as something more than a friend during a training session; but it was a true utter miracle that she was thinking the exact same thing.
30. Forgive
He forgave her for breaking his heart, although she had never known his heart did, when a rosy blush reddened her cheeks and her teeth nibbling on her lip attracting his attention and causing him to lean in and finally have his desire granted.
31. Obvious
The two planned to keep their relationship a secret, but the passionate gazes became too obvious, and their friends knew of the connection the two had.
32. Caught
Haruno Sakura had caught the two in a broom closet in the Hokage tower, their hands roaming each other’s bodies, and their lips glued to each others; she had never let them live it down after that.
33. Drama
Drama ensued, when he found her drunk after a party, clinging on to him closely, he could taste the alcohol on her lips; she had passed out before his hormones drove him over the edge.
34. Grin
When told that the branches of the Hyuuga clan were destroyed by none other than shy Hinata, and that he was insured freedom to do as he pleased, he had actually smiled.
35. Passage
When he told her of the news, her arms were around him and a happy beam was on her lips as she congratulated him; finally, his closed passage was now open, and his freedom was finally attained.
36. Plan
He changed their life’s plan soon after that, a gem was bought and soon she was wearing it on her ring finger, her fingers interlinked between his.
37. Graveyard
He went to the graveyard, towards her father’s tombstone, and he read the words one more time before asking her deceased father for Tenten’s hand in marriage; it was silent, but the awkwardness was lifted, as if his spirit approved of such vow.
38. Stink
He came back from his last mission covered in the scent of dried blood and carcass, his eyes stained with red and his mind resentful, as he told her how he had killed yet again another child.
39. Bubble
She had washed off the blood, both of them soaked with soapy water and bubbles, her laughter in his ears as he pulled her closer in the suds.
40. Fickle
She was a fickle creature, her eyes always wandering as she couldn’t sit still, and couldn’t keep quiet, he shut her up by occupying her mouth, not that either of them minded.
41. Complicated
Their relationship was drastically simple, yet at the same time complicated; their moments together would be comfortable silence yet heavy emotions could be passed between each other in a simple touch.
42. Finger
The way her tan fingers would wrap around a kunai expertly, twirling it in the air playfully before catching it and throwing it at the target meters away hitting bull’s eye, still impressed him after so many years of watching the same thing; it was not accuracy, it was magical.
43. Intelligence
He was a genius, the Rookie of the Year back in his Genin days, and how, how he managed to feel emotions so great and pure was beyond his comprehension; she convinced him that feelings were not supposed to be thought out, they’re supposed to be felt.
44. Behind
He enjoyed sneaking up behind her and scaring her despite her skillful ninja skills; he never thought she actually was expecting him, and feigning surprise.
45. Flight
And he was scared, no matter how many times he denied he was scared of anything, no matter how many times he was assured he was a prodigy and a genius, he was scared that one day when she took flight, that she would fall and he would lose her.
46. Crawl
Her painfully slow fingers would crawl up his arms, before wrapping around his neck, sending shivers he refused to tell anyone down his back.
47. Mercy
And he was at her mercy, no matter what she would do, it would effect him, a smile would brighten his mood, a frown would make him worry, and a pout would tempt him to give her the world.
48. Loyal
She had always been loyal, and he had returned the favor, making sure he gave her everything she needed and wanted, because she had given him that.
49. Grim
Hyuuga Hizashi died two days before the wedding, forcing the two to cancel it; they mourned for the clan leader’s death, and he silently thanked his uncle as he held his fiancée closer.
50. Wake
And he would wake, his pale eyes fluttering open, to have strands of chocolate tickle his cheek as her golden arm across his chest almost shimmered in the rising sun.
